    Best video i found! Many 12a manufactures, RedTek or Ultra Cool, state on their cans DO NOT ADD ON VACUUMED SYSTEM. Would you have an explanation why they would put that? Another manufacturer, Duracool say can be added to fully vacuumed. This video is a keeper!

    • @GarageKing
      @GarageKing 6 часов назад

      Hey There and thanks for the comment. I really have no idea why they would say that. Its quite strange and maybe there is a reason for it, but I can let you know I have done a lot or repairs, vacuumed the system, and then used 12a and they are all fine. It really does not make any sense because that would mean you can't use a 12a after a repair, because you always vacuum after a repair to get moisture out. I never noticed that warning from them, but I probably wasn't looking close enough LOL :)

      @@GarageKing well I bought one for the 2011 escape 2.5l and it shows it is in a hose on the input to the exchanger in the cabin. I then seen the king valve is at the fire wall and has a high failure rate. But the two HVAC guys I know said to chaing out the dryer no mater what. The pump jammed and took out the clutch. When I checked it it turned freely with little resistance not knowing how much to expect. I replaced the clutch and fryed it with in ten or fifteen minutes. So I then replaced the pump and the dryer with cycle switch. Before the pump failed the pressure was over the gauges limit bought a real set of gauges. The oil in the old pump was clean and had dye in it. Do I need to add any more oil to the system? Buy one can with oil and one with out? How do I know how much to put back in? Measure what's in the old dryer?

    • @GarageKing
      @GarageKing 6 часов назад

      @@seanbrossard8178 Hey There, sorry you are having such a tough time with it. A general rule of thumb is to replace any oil that you took out. So there could be oil in the lines, the compressor, dryer, its actually everywhere. Keep in mind that when an AC system leaks, and the refrigerant is coming out, the refrigerant boils away and you never see it, but the oil gets pushed out, so when you change a compressor there is a recommended amount to add, and any other part its what comes out. You are usually safe to add 1/2oz if the system seems dry.

    • @seanbrossard8178
      @seanbrossard8178 6 часов назад

      @@GarageKing the system was sealed and I had it evacuated. Both pumps full of oil so it sounds like just drain old dryer or weight it both OEM so the difference should be what needs to be added. Thanks

    Hey great video, I have a question though. If I buy the gel solution then I don’t need the tak solution right? So it’s 2 in 1? Slip and take solution in 1?

    • @GarageKing
      @GarageKing 17 часов назад

      Yes that's correct, and thats the main reason I got it, I'm an amateur at this, so I wanted to make it as easy as possible. Once you squeeze out all the gel it pretty much becomes a tack, so if you want a corner tacked down just squeegee all the gel out of that corner. BUT tack solution does actually work better, but the Gel does a good job. I do mix a little tack solution, but I find I rarely need it. The other thing with the gel is you don't get soap bubbles, and you don't have to keep spraying it. This video is I think from last year and the PPF still looks great, no issues at all.

    @sjgoff 2 дня назад

    For anyone watching this video - NEVER replaced brake pads without replacing the rotors. This is known in the industry as a 'pad slap'. You could resurface the rotors but it's just not worth it. You will likely hit minimum thickness, and rotors are cheap. The pad and rotor wear together AND wear unevenly. The new pad will likely not contact the full rotor face and rotors glaze over time. This will cause poor braking and can cause a brake shudder. Also it is very important to 'bed' the new pads with the new rotor. Most brake pads will come with a recommended bed-in process which is doing multiple hard braking at different speeds then allow the brakes to cool.

    • @GarageKing
      @GarageKing 2 дня назад

      Not true in reality, but you are right that its best practice, but only because aftermarket rotors are cheap. With factory OEM repairs, only what's necessary to get replaced actually gets replaced. As for bedding in pads, its not really done anymore, at one point yes (like the old Chevy Lumina) but now a few moderate stops is all it takes. Just regular driving. Most manuals for new cars will tell you to take it easy for the first few hundred kms. When you buy your car new I don't think they bed in the pads.

    HELLO! I have a 2005 Honda pilot that cranks but won’t start, Ive had the cam shaft and crankshaft position seansors changed but that’s abt it

    • @GarageKing

      If you have a scanner you should scan for codes, it may pick something up, or point you in the right direction. If its cranking over you could check for coil voltage, and then fuel pressure. I'll bet one of them is not working.

    • @ryqnn
      @ryqnn 10 дней назад

      @@GarageKing the scanners read absolutely nothing! I’ve had the battery changed and pcm and key reprogrammed but no scanner can read any codes

    • @GarageKing
      @GarageKing 9 дней назад

      @@ryqnn if you have a good scanner you can go into live data and check the crankshaft sensor by cranking the engine and reading the RPM on the scanner. when you turn the key do you hear the fuel pump running? If not you have to look their first. Then next check for coil voltage.

    Awesome video! Everything I needed and wanting information wise without and jibber jabber! Also nice to see it's a simple enough job on a van as crusty and dusty as mine 😂😉

    No need to make the ground that big, in fact you can go down two size on any ground wire. And you exterior should be conduit not PCV, and no romex allowed in conduit or PCV. 🤷‍♂️

      I'm seeing your comment my friend, can you tell me what type of code you are tying to clear (ABS, Air Bag, Engine) ?

    • @ly9563
      @ly9563 10 дней назад

      Hello, thank you for answering me! The code I received is for the TCM; Transmission Control Module. I’m told I need to plug the diagnostic tool back into the car and clear the code. I’m not sure how to do that?

    • @GarageKing
      @GarageKing 10 дней назад

      @@ly9563 Yes you need to plug the tool in for that. I did sell my 429 quite some time ago as it was getting quite old. In electronics world this scanner is ancient as its about 5 years old. BUT, it can still do a lot of things without updating. Once you plug it back in, you should be able to get into the TCM and clear the code. Sometimes I found it easier to go through the OBDII menu as the top menu takes quite a bit of tie to do its health check.
